It is a common thing that both children and adults are affected by cold and flu during winter season. You should always wear warm clothes in your house and also outside. Totally avoid cold drink and cold food items. Only use hot and freshly prepared food during winter season. The first symptoms of cold is feeling tired, coughing, sneezing, head ache and running noses. Medicine should be given to children when the cold symptoms are shown.  You should consult a doctor if the temperature is rising. The virus spread from the infected person to others in the home. So you should take precaution that other kids are not affected. Some times antibiotics help them out. There are flu vaccinations available that will protect your kid from flu and cold. Before taking vaccination always consult your pediatrician. Make sure that your kid washes your hand properly when they are back from school or from play ground.

Parents should always be there with their children when they are sick. They should cover their mouth and nose when they are sneezing. Children’s should be treated well at home. You can also try for home remedies for your kid. Taking steam is also good and it will give you relief. You can also use warm water for gargling. Home made cough syrup is also good for children. Parents should always encourage children to take liquid items. Medicines should be given properly at time. Proper dosage of medicine is also important. Honey is also good for kids who are having cough. Kids should take rest at home if they are not well. They should avoid playing out side and they should not be sent to school. Getting out of the door with your child in one piece is the hard part, the next phase after getting to the hospital emergency room is parking getting your baby inside and into the waiting room. You should keep a checklist of items that you know you will need to register your baby for services.

2. Identification

You will need picture identification this could be driver’s license or State issued ID card. You should have your baby’s health insurance card and you may be asked for yours as well. Your cards should be well in the coverage area and not expired. You are legally and financially responsible for any care your child receives from the hospital. 3. Triage

Once you are called back to triage your baby’s vitals will be taken. This can be an alarming procedure for new parents. Hospital staff cares for hundreds of people per week. They have to move fast and efficiently. So they can’t coddle this is about helping sick people. 4. Long ER Visits

You will be seen in emergency based on the seriousness of the illness. It isn’t first come first serve when lives are at stake. If you have packed a bag full of toys and things to keep your baby occupied while you wait that is a good deal. He may not want to play most people don’t when aren’t feeling well. But you never know. Take nourishment for yourself even a bag of nuts and bottled water beats nothing and is better than the vending machine fare.
