Keep your Germs to Yourself

Living with your spouse and children is a great experience until someone gets sick. Then, inevitably, it spreads to every member of the house and you are either lying in bed with a cold, driving someone to the doctor or taking care of someone. A successful child is typically a well-organized child. Parents can support their children by making sure they learn all the basics about organization. Implement some  organizational skills into the lives of your children and you will simultaneously be building important life skills.

Toss out the clutter
Throw away any unnecessary papers or items. Help them clean out and organize their desk to clear out some space. A clean space can help promote productivity.

Homework or Study Calendar
Make sure that your children have homework or study calendars. They can fill these out with assignment and project deadlines. Homework or study calendars may be provided for free at school or can also be bought at nearly any store. A homework or study calendar helps children learn the principles of scheduling.

Materials
Make sure that your children have all the materials they need to make it through class and studying. For example, you may get them paper, pens, pencils, crayons, rulers and a dictionary. By having everything that they need, there’s really no excuse to justify what they cannot do.

Home file folders
Have home file folders available to place previous notes, essays and tests. You can separate each folder by subject. That way, your children can take an organized approach toward storing their previous work. In a way, your child is practicing record keeping.
